Japan Twang! 2026
Come to Japan Twang! An hour-long performance of Tsugaru-jamisen, a modern, improvisatory, and highly technical Japanese musical style performed on a three-stringed spiked lute called a shamisen. Translation and commentary will be provided by Joshua Solomon of Hirosaki University, Japan.

Student T-Shirt Design Contest
We are looking for talented artists! We would love it if a Kalamazoo College student designed a unique piece of artwork for the T-shirt for the East Asian Studies Department.
