Commemorating the 120th anniversary of the famous Japanese novelist Nagai Kafu’s study at Kalamazoo College, Professor Jeffrey Angles of Western Michigan University, a renowned translator, researcher of Japanese literature, and poet, will give a lecture based on his unique research into Kafu’s activities in Kalamazoo during 1904 — 1905. His lecture will cover the significant actions or contributions of Nagai Kafu that affected both Japan and Kalamazoo.
